				Hey all,

I just included Frontend Editing Advanced (tag 43beta1) into the TYPO3 core trunk.

As this project hasn't reached "stable" (core) quality, we're going to include it as SVN externals. You could see this as a "Developer Preview" that includes the base set of features, which should work in the classic frontend and in TemplaVoila environments (currently XCLASSed due to missing hook).

How to try it out:

 * Update your TYPO3 core to the latest trunk (or get the beta1, which will be available very soon)
 * Uninstall the Extension "feedit"
 * Install the Extension "feeditadvanced"
 * Surf your frontend websites with logged in FE

However, we still have a bunch of known but unresolved issues:

http://forge.typo3.org/projects/typo3v4-feedit/issues

If you find some more bugs, feel free to add another issue and help us to track down these bugs, but more important: if you have time available, we're happy for any help we can get in fixing these issues. Don't hesitate to contact us.

Until beta2, we're working on the following things to get done:

 * Make the layout bullet-proof (so it works with practically ANY FE template)
 * Minor bugfixes with moving elements (non-TV and TV-version)
 * Fix issues with D&D with various combinations
 * Handle hidden elements and list elements

Important notice: If we can't get Frontend Editing to reach stable/Core-like quality by beta3, it will be removed again and will not be included in the final version of TYPO3 4.3. Instead we will release it to TER then. So, if you want this feature to be included, help out as much as you can and let us know.

All the best,
Benni.
